DescriptionMr. Alberto B. Bongalos is a trader-turned-manufacturer of handicraft. What he originally trades before, though, were grocery and dry goods. He began buying suggestion which he readily accepted. Gradually, demand for these products swelled until typhoon Reming ravaged the province and his store was barely spared. Resiliently, he recovered and soon started producing the very handicraft he use to trade. With the help of Mr. Jonel Sambajon, he established REMYX Handicraft in 2004 by renting one sewing machine to manufacture their own jute and abaca slippers as well other handicraft products. As more orders continued rushing in, Mr. Bongalos decided to buy for more sewing machines. Because of the variety of products he sold in his store, Mr. Bongalos adopted the name REMYX in his handicraft business. In 2012, the company applied for the Manufacturing Productivity Extension (MPEX) Program of DOST. As part of the company's thrusts to heed the recommendations of the MPEX consultants, the company for SET-UP assistance.
